Black Diamond was born in 1991 for the purpose of developing specialty footwear for extreme environments. Extreme environments are worked by unique individuals who know that good equipment is an important tool when getting the job done right may save someone's life or prevent injury. Black Diamond takes pride in the fact that we make extreme environment footwear for the people you love working in extreme environments.

Black Diamond is sold through a network of over 300 distributors in North America. Our products include footwear for extreme environments such as fire fighting, commercial fishing, mining, Petro Chemical Plants and many more. Each product is developed for that specific industry. In the development of our footwear we take special notice of the specific dangers encountered in each of these environments. We then design a product that will protect the user of our product from these dangers using the finest raw materials available. Then we take it one step further.
